In late Autumn 2020 the Greek parliament approved a new bill requiring all foreigners to sit a Greek Citizenship Test covering Greek language, history and culture in order to acquire Greek nationality.
The first Greek Citizenship exams will be held on 16 May 2021 in 8 cities across Greece: Athens, Thessaloniki, Larisa, Komotini, Ioannina, Patra, Tripoli and Iraklio.
You can apply to sit the Greek Citizenship Exam via the Greek Government online platform. The exam fee is €250.
The Greek Government has published a “question bank” containing possible questions that could be asked during the exam. Many of them are multiple choice, whilst others require written or oral answers. Unfortunately, the format of the questions does not enable easy study as each question is contained within its own PDF document. In addition, the questions do not include any answers.
We have therefore started downloading the questions and making them available in an easy to study format on this website. We are also gradually filling in the answers as well to help you study for the test.
Keep coming back as more answers are added daily!
